Kashmiri Pandit tradition

Herath, Navreh and the Saptarshi era

Being a Kashmiri Pandit, I have built a living calendar for our community — the whole Vikrami festival cycle worked out from real sun and moon positions for Srinagar, with the tithi, the purnimanta equivalent and the vidhi for each observance: Vagur Bah and Herath, Salam, Tila Ashtami, Zyeth Atham at Kheer Bhawani, Pann, Vyetha Truvah, Khetsimavas, Kaw Punim and Gaad Batt.

About Vikas Pandita

A digital creator and astrologer who works at the meeting point of technology and tradition — cyber and AI security by profession, Jyotish and palmistry by calling. Certified in astrology, with a following who come for straight answers on marriage timing, career direction, Shani periods and name corrections.

My method is simple: show the chart, show the calculation, tell you what the classical texts say, then give an upay that costs little and is easy to sustain. Predictions are guidance for reflection — your karma and effort remain yours.

Questions people ask

Are the tools really free?

Yes. Every calculator on this site is free and needs no sign-up. Personal one-to-one consultations are paid and booked by request.

Which system of astrology do you follow?

Vedic (sidereal) astrology with the Lahiri ayanamsa, Parashari yogas and Vimshottari dasha, supported by Chaldean numerology and palmistry.

How is the Kashmiri Pandit calendar calculated?

Sun and moon longitudes are computed for Srinagar, the tithi is taken at local sunrise, and each festival is placed by its own rule — nishita for Herath, pradosh for Diwali, aparahna for shraddha.

Will you tell me to buy an expensive gemstone?

No. The classical order of upay is followed — mantra, daan and conduct first. A stone is suggested only when the chart genuinely calls for it.
